Four of Swords

Tarot carries an old relationship with the heavens. But the heavens have not stood still. What happens when we look at the cards against the sky that is actually above us now?

Why this card, today?
Astronomy, not prediction — a contemporary exploration of Tarot, time and the stars.

The sky has moved.

The Tarot correspondences we inherit belong to systems built from older observations of the heavens. Earth’s slow precession means that the relationship between calendar, Sun and stars changes over centuries.

Tarot Today begins with a simple question: if we look up again — using astronomy rather than assuming the old sky is still there — what do the cards look like today?

We are mapping thirty-six ten-day regions of the year to the visible stellar sky, then using that astronomical framework to revisit the Tarot’s familiar images and associations.

WORKING PROTOTYPE — The Four of Swords is the current working card for 2 November 2026. The final daily mapping will be driven by the Tarot Today astronomical decan dataset rather than hard-coded page content.
